About Clinical Trials at AMA

Clinical trials are an important part of what we do at Anderson Medical Associates. Clinical trials help us learn how to diagnose, treat and even prevent certain health problems for our patients. We conduct trials in many health areas including cardiac care, cancer and women’s health. We concentrate our clinical research efforts on testing new therapies, enhancing existing treatments, discovering methods of prevention and improving the quality of life for patients.

Our Clinical Trial Process

A clinical trial is a research study in which participants help doctors answer questions about how to treat certain health problems or how to improve current treatments. Clinical trials have many different purposes. They can be used to test whether certain drugs are effective in treating a particular illness or to find out how particular therapies affect health outcomes. Each experiment tries to find better ways to screen, diagnose, prevent or treat a disease.

Volunteering at Anderson Medical Associates

Volunteers at our facilities find rewarding opportunities that directly affect the healing process for our patients and often can relieve stress for their families. Each year, more than 300 local people donate their time across our campuses. Volunteer openings are available at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, University Hospital, Mitchell Cancer Institute and Strada Patient Care Center. Our volunteers range from teens, as young as 14, to college students and adults of all ages. Groups from service and religious organizations are welcome to join our team of volunteers.
